This Privacy Policy describes how Lenkbear Inc. ("Lenkbear," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you visit lenkbear.com or use our services. It is written in compliance with applicable US federal and state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by CPRA, the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), and other applicable state laws.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of personal information:
a) Information You Provide Directly
- Name and email address (e.g., when signing up for our waitlist or newsletter)
- Account credentials if you create an account (coming in Beta)
- Communications you send us (support requests, feedback)
b) Information Collected Automatically
- IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers
- Pages visited, time spent, referring URLs, and clickstream data
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 6)
c) Information from Third Parties
- Analytics data from service providers such as Vercel Analytics
- Payment information processed by our payment processor (we do not store full card numbers)

- Providing our services: delivering lessons, routes, and other platform features
- Communications: sending you updates, waitlist notifications, and service announcements you have requested
- Marketing: with your consent, sending promotional materials about Lenkbear

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If this changes, you will have the right to opt out.

Request that we limit our use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary for service delivery.
Right to Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
Right to Portability
Receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.

6. Cookies and Tracking
We use the following types of cookies and technologies:
- Strictly necessary cookies: required for the site to function (e.g., session management, security). These cannot be disabled.
- Preference cookies: store your settings such as your chosen light/dark theme.
- Analytics cookies: help us understand how visitors use our site. These are only set with your consent.
You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. When personal information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it. Waitlist email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
8. Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include HTTPS encryption, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
Lenkbear is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@lenkbear.com.
10. State-Specific Disclosures
California (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA including the right to know, delete, correct, opt-out of sale or sharing, and limit use of sensitive personal information. To submit a verifiable consumer request, email privacy@lenkbear.com. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA. California residents may also designate an authorized agent to make requests on their behalf.
Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA)
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, and Connecticut have the right to access, correct, delete, and port their personal data, as well as to opt out of targeted advertising and profiling. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@lenkbear.com. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our denial notice.
Other States
We extend similar privacy rights to residents of all US states where applicable law provides such rights, including Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others. Contact us to exercise your rights regardless of your state of residence.
11. Do Not Track
Our website does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals from browsers, as no uniform standard has been adopted. We will update this policy if a standard emerges.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page and, where the changes are material, provide additional notice (such as an email notification). We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
